Sono Arrivata a Milano

Flying is time travel. Yesterday I arrived in Milan, and it was Friday, allegedly, though of course it was Thursday to me since I couldn’t sleep more than 1 hour on the flight. So I made some exhausted decisions such as walking from the train station through a giant park rolling my two suitcases. Arrived at the AirBnB like the sweaty American that I am! All flustered falling out of the tiny elevator, that intimidating kind where you have to close two sets of doors or else the entire building is put out. I dropped my stuff, took a shower and went and ate a pizza. Tried to stay awake until night here but I realized I was too old for that shit when I was nodding off on a bench after wandering Parco Sempione in a fugue state for 20 minutes. Took a nap that turned into the whole night’s sleep. And today - still sort of wobbly from exhaustion and dehydration, but better - I started to explore.

You know I found a botanical garden Asap!

Part of the University of Milan, tucked away behind the Pinacoteca Brera

That neon green of spring that seems fake! Gets me every year.

some damn fern

I include the placard yet you can’t read it… it’s called art, look it up

Wisteria

So many influencers taking photos of each other in front of this wisteria wall

It wasn’t as creepy moody in real life

It’s this damn gray light making it all Halloweeny. See the hellebores aka “Lenten Roses” in the front.

Duomo

Climbed the Duomo stairs. Your usual flying buttresses, gargoyles, blahdy blah if you’ve seen one you’ve seen ‘em all
